The gameplay is easy and fun. Use the joystick to move the character left and right, and the right button to jump. Be careful not to let the ball touch the ground or hit the spikes, as it will result in a loss.
Foot9ja offers two game modes: Practice Mode and Competitive Mode. In Practice Mode, you can play as much as you want and your score remains private. Competitive Mode allows you to compete against other players online. You have three attempts per week, and the scores and attempts reset every week. Your score in Competitive Mode is visible to all players.
Choose from 5 different Naija themed characters and backgrounds, including Ikoyi Bridge and Oniru Beach. There are also 4 balls in the game, 3 of which have special powers. The 9ja ball slows down the ball for 10 seconds every 20 seconds, the wooden ball increases your speed for 10 seconds every 20 seconds, and the coconut ball shows you the direction the ball will take for 10 seconds every 20 seconds.
Boosters are available to help you achieve higher scores in Competitive Mode. The X2 booster doubles your score, the X3 booster triples your score, and the Revive booster gives you one chance to continue your score if you lose.
